Scalloped PotatoesLots of Free Recipes |
Ingredients:
3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 Tablespoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cups milk
2 Tablespoons onion, chopped
6 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (6 cups)
Directions:
Make a white sauce by melting butter in sauce pan. Add flour, salt and pepper. Stir until smooth, then slowly add heated milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
Place one half of the potatoes in the bottom of a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Cover with one half of the onion and one half of the sauce. Repeat ending with sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour in a 350 degree oven. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer.
