The Blender Cookbook by Ann Seranne
One of the first kitchen appliances Sheldon bought for me when we were first married forty years ago was an electric blender. It came with a small cookbook, but we went out looking for one that had lots of good recipes in it. The one we bought was The Blender Cookbook by Ann Seranne and Eileen Gaden, ©1961, Doubleday and Company. The recipes are well-written with excellent and easy to follow directions. There are illustrations which add to the simplicity of the instructions. The recipes range from the very simple to the gourmet.
The recipes for Hollandaise Sauce and Thousand Island Sauce were among our favorites and we still use this cookbook to make them today. The pages are stained from having the book open in the kitchen while we are cooking, but I can't bear to part with it. You can find a copy of this book in a used-book store or online for as little as $1.00 per copy. It will make an excellent addition to any kitchen bookshelf, and is a great gift for the beginning cook.
