Hamburger Cornbread CasseroleLots of Free Recipes |
Ingredients:
1 pound hamburger
1 onion, chopped
salt
catsup
1 can whole kernel corn
2 Tablespoons butter
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 1/4 cup milk
1 Tablespoon melted shortening
Directions:
Brown onions and hamburger. Add salt and catsup to taste. Pour off excess grease and place in casserole dish leaving center of dish empty. Drain corn and place in middle of hamburger; dot with butter and sprinkle with salt.
Prepare cornbread: Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add egg, milk and shortening and stir until moist. Pour on top of corn and hamburger. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 45 minutes or until cornbread is done.
