Raw Apple Cake

Cream together the following ingrediants:

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening

Add

2 eggs

Sift together:

2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp, soda
1/2 tsp, salt
1 tsp, cinnamon

Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with 1 cup milk.

Add 2 cups chopped apples
1 tsp, vanilla
1 tsp, lemon

Mix well.

Pour batter into an 8 1/2 x 12 inch cake pan.

Topping

2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup coconut
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup nuts

Melt butter and mix in rest of ingredients.

Sprinkle over top of cake. Bake at 375° for 45 to 55 minutes.
