Awesome Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients:

Mix and let set: 1 tsp. vinegar and 1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food color
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbs. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 cup flour

Directions:

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Make a paste of food coloring and cocoa and add to egg mixture. Add milk, flour, salt, and vanilla then add vinegar and soda mixture. Bake at 350 degrees 30-35 minutes. Ice cake after completely cooled.
