Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

½ cup shortening
2 cup sifted flour
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Baking soda
3 eggs
½ pint (1 cup) commercial sour cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan. Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs singly beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream blending well after each addition. Mix together:

6 Tbs. Butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 c. chopped nuts

Spread half of batter in 10-inch tube pan and top with half of the nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter and dot with the rest of the nut mixture. Bake at 350 degrees 50 minutes. Remove from pan.
